Who Are We?

Michelle Collins and Ruth Ann Swansburg are the founders of BBLink 2019.

They are both bloggers based out of Moncton NB. In 2016, over many coffee dates, they started talking about the need to link bloggers / influencers and businesses, to create more community-based connections between businesses and their potential clients. After a blogger’s conference in 2018, and talking with many local businesses over the past year, they were inspired to launch their “BIG, HAIRY, AUDACIOUS IDEA” and so BBLink 2019 was created.

In addition to the event in April, Michelle and Ruth Ann will be posting information and stories here on the blog. Sharing resources to support the connections they know will strengthen our communities.

Hi! I am Ruth Ann. I am a creative type, full of ideas. Having a  formal background in communications and graphic design lead me to spend much of my time online. My career began designing 3D models and animations for an engineering firm, back when people first started using 3D Studio and Dreamweaver! Since moving to Moncton in 2002, I spent most of my time doing freelance work, from ad design to social media consulting, to photography and teaching & developing seminars on various topics. I also had a homemade pet treat business, for just over 2 years at the Marche Moncton Market and other events, called The Barker’s Dozen.

Becoming well known as the Moncton Coupon Lady (2011), I had a regular column on CBC’s Information Morning in Moncton for 2 years, and have appeared in many publications and television segments. My blogging journey began over 8 years ago, and more recently the content has changed to focus on family life in Atlantic Canada. You can find me over at Everything Unscripted.

Supporting local businesses, destinations and events are important to me and my readers. When it comes to social media, Facebook is my jam! I love to share recipes, simple living tips and, of course, all our family adventures road tripping in the Maritimes. Born in Cape Breton and living most of my life in New Brunswick (Quispamsis and Moncton), I am a Maritimer through and through. If you can’t find me, I am likely exploring a beach somewhere on the NB coastline or driving down a back road in search of something to photograph!

To hear more about me and the work I do, you can check out my website Work With Me section here.

Michelle Collins: I have filled many roles over my life: daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and Grand Master Bikini Competitor. All these life experiences have provided me with a wealth of stories to share. Words are my refuge and my strength.

My goal is to build relationships with my followers by sharing stories from my life and experiences. I want to connect with people and businesses that share my values and to build a community based on integrity and trust.

I want to share the stories of older adult life and experiences in a vibrant and robust way.

I was encouraged to start writing a blog by Ruth Ann when just about every conversation that we had ended with her saying “You should be writing about this!” Through first writing for her blog, and then starting my own at This Whole Life,  I reconnected with the joy that I felt as a child when I could escape into a story, and by writing my own. Now I draw on my life experiences to encourage, inspire and challenge my readers to connect with the things that bring them joy.
